King James Version
What does John 8:24 mean? โPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
The most important phrase is, "If you don't believe that I AM, you will die in your sins." However, our translations tend to hide it. As John does so often, he takes a simple phrase, fills it with meaning, and uses it to show us Jesus in a completely new way. Jesus is the God who says, "I AM." Why does God love us so much? We can't know the whole answer, but we can believe, be happy, and live for His glory.
Prayer
Thank you, Holy and Righteous God, for Jesus and everything He is and has done for me. To Your glory and in the name of Jesus, I praise You and thank You for Your promise that I won't die in my sins. Even more, dear Father, thank You for making sure I will live with You after I die. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
