What does John 8:32 mean? โPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Freedom is one of the most sought-after things. People die for it. There are prayers for it. People work hard to get it. The only way to be truly free is to know the truth. In the end, obeying Jesus is the only way to know the truth. You can't just think or believe something to be true. Truth is what you do, what you live. Jesus' lessons usually end with the words, "Blessed are you who do these things!" We'll never know the truth that sets us free until we act on it.
Prayer
Glory, honor, power, and praise be to the one and only true God. Father, I want You to guide my decisions as well as Your presence in my daily life. As I promise to live today in accordance with Your word and Your will, kindly impart more of Your truth to me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
The only way to know the truth is to live it. Jesus tells us that we must not only know what He says but also do what He says. Obedience is a sign that we are followers of Christ and a way to freedom and truth.
Prayer
Father, please forgive me for not taking Your will seriously enough. At times, Your way seems hard and narrow. But, dear Father, I do believe in my heart that Your will is a blessing and not a problem. Use me to help other people find joy in doing what You say. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
