Passage Context

22Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
23For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
24That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.

God shows us how much He loves us because He loves us. God shows us His love because He knows that without it, we would be lost. God shows us how much He loves us because He wants to show the rest of the world how powerful He is. God shows us how much He loves us because He wants us to know how strong His power to save is. God shows us how much He loves us so that we will respect, honor, and revere Him.

Prayer

I thank you, Holy and Almighty God, for your majesty and power. I thank you for your grace and love. I laud you with a heart full of gratitude. I give you praise while bowing low in adoration because you are the only true and living God, and I want to honor and glorify you. For as long as I am on this earth, may honor, glory, and praise belong to you in my heart and in my life. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

The LORD miraculously led the Israelites across the Jordan River during the flood season out of His love for His people and to keep His promises. He was also telling His people something important about Himself. He always wanted Israel to treat Him with reverence. He also wanted Israel's enemies to be so scared that they would shake. It's true. God and His people won a big victory because of their faith.

Prayer

You are clothed in righteousness and bathed in glory, holy and mighty God. I want to treat you the way you deserve to be treated—with respect and reverence. I apologize for not treating you with the reverence and respect you deserve in the past. Please pardon me for not holding up your name as holy when it was being abused by others. You are deserving of my love, life, and everything else. I want to sing your praises forever and ever. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
