Devotional Reflection
When these words were initially pronounced, the emphasis was on God giving Israel its rightful position, importance, life, and temple. But from where we stand, we may also offer this prayer. Restoration may also refer to Christ's second coming, which reconciles us to God. Every obstacle between God and us will be removed on that day. In triumph, our mortality will be absorbed. In the calm of that day, as His perfect offspring, we shall be able to walk side by side with God and meet Him face-to-face. May that day come soon!
Prayer
I recognize that there is a wide gap between your perfection and my limitations, holy and glorious God. But, my Father, I believe your grace has bridged that gap. Please equip me for my conflicts with the Evil One and protect me from every spiritual injury and assault while I wait for that perfection to come to light in all its glory. Please accept my all-too-limited and finite appreciation for everything you have done to rescue me until the day I meet you face-to-face. In Jesus' name, I ask it. Amen.
