Devotional Reflection
Friend of the Lost. I think that was his favorite of all the names people called him. I think it's my favorite, too, now that I think about it.
Prayer
Although I am aware that You despise sin and the havoc it causes in our lives, Father, I am eternally grateful that when You came to earth, You were not our judge but rather our Savior and friend. Because I understand what it means to be found, I make a vow to live today with a greater awareness of Your love for the lost. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Jesus came to earth so that the last could be first, the sick could be cured, sinners could be saved, and the lost could be found. His goal was to restore what was damaged, including not just us but also our globe, mankind, and everything associated with it. How, therefore, can we profess to be followers of Jesus while not pursuing what we perceive to be lost in the world with the same passion and purpose?
Prayer
O loving Father and Almighty God, please inspire a holy zeal in Your people, particularly in me, so that our lives, families, and churches will more closely reflect the mission of Jesus. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Friend of the Lost. I think that was his favorite of all the names people called him. I think it's my favorite, too, now that I think about it.
Prayer
Father, I know You hate sin and all the trouble it causes in our lives, but I'm so glad You didn't come to earth as our Judge but as our Savior and friend. Because I know what it's like to be lost and then found, I promise to be more aware of Your love for the lost today. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
