Devotional Reflection
A baby in a feed trough was the sign for the shepherds. Isn't that a pretty strong sign? The All-Powerful One who made everything is sleeping where the sheep and goats ate their grain and hay. That God would love us so much that He would start out in such a humble way shows us why the angels praise Him so much. He is glorious, but instead of hiding or guarding that glory, He shared it with us so we could find it too.
Prayer
I join the angels in praising your glorious and holy name, O God of the manger and Ruler of the constellations. I'm in awe of your profound sacrifice. You could have shown Jesus to the shepherds with any sign, but you chose the manger. I appreciate you making yourself known in such a public location so I could find your sign and return to you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
God gave us Jesus as a gift, and the only right thing to do is to praise and worship Him. The amazing gift of Jesus brings us God's love, grace, favor, blessing, forgiveness, mercy, and salvation. Why wouldn't we praise Him? How can our hearts be still and our voices be quiet in front of a God so great? They either can't or won't do it right now. Let's take their refusal as a reminder that we need to reach as many people as possible before every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of the Father.
Prayer
Father, you're wonderful. Your kindness is wonderful. Your gift of Jesus is wonderful. All praise to you for sending Jesus, who showed us your glory and grace. In His name, I praise you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

God of the manger and ruler of the stars, I join my heart and voice with the angels to praise your holy and glorious name. Your sacrifice means so much to me that I am in awe. You could have shown Jesus to the shepherds in any way, but you chose the manger. Thank you for showing up in a common place so I could find your sign and find my way back to you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
