God's gift to Simeon was very special and made him feel deeply moved. Simeon is a symbol for all people from every country, race, and culture who seek God's salvation. Luke emphasizes that God's salvation is for everyone. Also, God's light has dawned. Let's welcome the sunrise and share it with others.

Prayer

Lord God of all peoples, I pray for world peace as well as the spread of the gospel throughout all countries in the upcoming year. Please help me to be more aware of those around me who could use Your kindness. Give me the stamina and the words to persuade them to accept Your salvation. Encourage me to be kind to those who are sharing Your message with the world. Bind the devil's work. Stop the evil one from keeping entire countries in the dark. Allow grace to bring Your salvation to their darkness by using me to help prepare the way. Make Your Kingdom successful by allowing Your grace to succeed everywhere in the world. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

This is what old Simeon said when he saw the Christ child. This is also our goal. Even though we can't see Jesus, who is our salvation, and hold Him in our arms like Simeon did, we can still see Him through the Bible, worship, ministry, evangelism, and the Holy Spirit's work. Let's make it our goal to honor God as the only true God and to follow Jesus as our Lord.

Prayer

Righteous Father, please help me learn more about Jesus, become more like Him, and live with His character. Please, dear God, I want to have a character and act like Christ. I want to truly follow my great Teacher and become more and more like Him every day. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
