Devotional Reflection
Grace is given to us as a free gift. It cannot be earned or merited. However, salvation that doesn't move us out of our reckless and defiant ways is fake. It is an acknowledgment that we have been going the wrong way on a one-way road. An attempt to direct our own lives will continuously end in frustration, catastrophe, and demise without Jesus being Lord of both our lips and our lives. We realize that God's grace is divine, but at the same time, let us also discover that His will is compassionate. As we do, we will change our behavior to reflect the character of the Father who sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Prayer
God, you are a kind and gracious God who wants to free me from the consequences of my past mistakes by calling me to obedience. Please assist me as I surrender my life to your will. Please instill your Spirit in me so that I can avoid temptation and reflect your righteousness. Rejuvenate in me the nature that mirrors your salvation and your personality in me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
