Devotional Reflection

LoveGratitudeHopeCompassionAwe

Jesus' religious opponents often said that He made a point of hanging out with people they thought were bad. But Jesus had a good reason to act this way. He wasn't hanging out with bad people to be cool or weird. The Lord was friends with all kinds of people because He loved everyone. He came to free the slaves, find the lost, fix what was broken, and bring the sinner back to God. Can we, as Jesus' physical presence in the world today, do anything less and still call ourselves Jesus' Church?

Prayer

Father, please forgive me when I choose to be safe with my friends and avoid getting involved in relationships that could get messy. Please open my eyes so I can see all the people who are lost, alone, forgotten, and in need. Please let me help them find Your grace and their family among Your people. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
