Passage Context

25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

Devotional Reflection

LoveHopeCompassion

Jesus' life and death were the best ways to follow this command. Love has so much power to save and change lives. Even though not everyone does, many do. It's not easy to be kind and loving to people who hate us, but God's Spirit can fill us with Jesus' love and help us live powerful lives of grace, even when we're around people who hate us.

Prayer

Dear God, I have to tell You that there are a few people in my life with whom I have trouble. They seem set on criticizing, undermining, making fun of, and beating me down. Please give me the strength to stand up to their attacks and the wisdom to respond to them in a way that is righteous and good. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
