What does Malachi 3:7 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
People often ask, "Where is God?" when terrible things happen. Yet, we put God on the sidelines of our lives and only turn to Him when we're desperate and have no other choice. We rarely say, "When things are going well, where does God fit into all this? Why, He's here blessing us right now! Let's thank Him for being good." God urges us to turn to Him and seek Him, whether things are going well or not. We will not only find Him, but He will also come back to us and walk with us.
Prayer
God, please forgive us for trying to do things on our own. We're sorry that we've gone astray from Your ways. Even though the Bible is so easy to get, we don't always take advantage of the chance to hear You speak from it. Even though we have many opportunities to thank You and pray to You, sometimes the only time You hear from us is when we've done something really bad. Father, I'm sorry that I've let my relationship with You lapse and haven't done as much as I could to have You in my life. Please be with me and the rest of Your Church as we seek You and Your presence every day. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
