Devotional Reflection
We beings are always attempting to determine our place in the "food chain." Jesus informs His followers that if they really want to be members of His Kingdom, they must abandon the daily norms of the pecking order. In fact, He was furious with them because they wouldn't allow little children to see Him. They didn't appear to believe the tiny kids were worth their Master's time, energy, or attention. As He often did, Jesus flipped their typical worldly ideals on their heads, telling them that if they wanted to comprehend God's Kingdom, they needed to pay more attention to the character of babies rather than their own sense of significance.
Prayer
Thank you for considering me to be your child, Father. As I strive to live for You and Your Kingdom, restore to me the amazement, humility, and awe that once filled me! In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
