Devotional Reflection
Jesus emphasizes the value of teaching time and again. It's possible that we mistakenly believed that Jesus' compassion would result in miracles or other extraordinary events, but what sheep without a shepherd actually need is sound, grounded, down-to-earth instruction from a mentor who is familiar with them and cares about them.
Prayer
Almighty God, please provide Your church with vibrant, compassionate, and skilled instructors. Give Your people, Your sheep, a desire to learn more about Your Word and a readiness to apply it to our daily lives. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
