Devotional Reflection
This short, clear passage can be read in two ways: First, we are blessed when we do simple things to help God's children. Second, we can be happy when people do simple things to bless us in Jesus' name, because we receive their kindness and grace, and because God blesses that kindness with His overwhelming grace. In the end, let's live to bless others! When we do that, God is happy. We are blessed. We make others happy. Also, when people are kind to us, God has promised to bless them as well. God gives all of us His good things. The more we bless each other, the more blessings there are for everyone in God's miraculous economy.
Prayer
Father, you are gracious and kind. Please use me this week to bless everyone around me. This week, dear Father, please show me someone who needs your grace very much. Please give me the wisdom to recognize them when you put them in my path. Give me the strength to reach out to them and bless them. Keep them in my mind and help me as I try to assist them in the long run. In the name of Jesus, I ask for your help and grace to use this opportunity to bring glory to you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
