Devotional Reflection
We could call it the irony of following Christ. If we want to follow Christ, we have to give up everything and go with Him. To follow Christ is to receive many blessings in this life and to spend all of eternity with God. So, how hard is it? Yes, it is sometimes. Life is hard, though. Is the load light, as Jesus said it would be? Yes, because we know that our lives aren't wasted, that we're living life the way God planned, and that when life is over, it's not really over! We get to go home to be with our Lord.
Prayer
God, give me the courage I need to face the challenges before me. Grant me kindness so I can treat people the right way. Give me gratitude for all the good things You've done for me. Help me see that living for Jesus is the best thing I could do. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
