Matthew 6:25 Β· KJV
"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?"

Devotional Reflection
There are numerous worries, and they all tend to congregate around bill payment time. Jesus told us that there is more to life than just food and clothing. Whether we can live as if life is more than just food and clothes is the true question. We are so easily tricked, much like Esau, who exchanged his birthright for a bowl of soup. Let's resist the temptation to trade what we value most for something that won't last forever or will, at the very least, cause us trouble and entanglements.
Prayer
Father, help me to overcome my fear and selfishness. I am aware that You have already given the greatest gift ever. Help me focus on what will further You and Your will rather than what would stifle You in my life. In Jesus' name, I ask. Amen.
God makes the flowers beautiful and gives the grass life. In the big picture, these things are short-lived and don't matter much. He sent His Son to save us for Heaven. So, He will give us everything we need until we go home to live with Him.
Prayer
Loving Father and Almighty God, please forgive me for being distracted by things that don't matter. I do thank You for giving me everything I need through Jesus and Your many blessings. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
Food and clothes are two of our most pressing concerns as humans. They have been for millennia. God, on the other hand, reminds us that no matter how essential these things appear to be in our world, life is far broader than these things, and He wants us to believe that He will supply them when we trust in Him.
Prayer
Father, please help me rein in my jealous and covetous heart. I know my hunger for goods makes me nervous and near-sighted in my faith. Give me a wider picture of Your Kingdom so I can use Your blessings to serve others. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
