Devotional Reflection
Seek God's rule over your life and the righteous behavior that He wants you to have every day. All the other things you do are temporary. God and His Kingdom are all that remain. As you seek God's Kingdom and righteousness, you'll find that the same God who gives you His Kingdom and righteousness will also give you the things you need in this life.
Prayer
Only in You, Holy Lord, can I find what my soul craves. The things that have caught my attention quickly grow monotonous. All of my addictive pursuits and artificial goals have made me feel empty and enslaved. Only in You do I find hope and support. Please be close so that You can lead, guide, discipline, and mold me to Your glory. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Seek! This is the verse's main point. This is a strong term that describes a passionate pursuit of something in order to make it our own. The Kingdom, and the righteousness of those who live in it, is our passion, not just our desire, hope, or dream. We will go for it at any cost. We shall pursue it with zeal. This will be our all-consuming work until we make it our own, or better yet, find a place to call home!
Prayer
Forgive me, Lord God, for allowing my enthusiasm for Your Kingdom and Your character to be pushed to the side. Awaken me each morning with a sense of passion for Your work and Your intent for that day. Father, I want to be a passionate seeker; please make me eager for Your Kingdom as my home. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Seek God's rule over your life and the righteous behavior that He wants you to have every day. All of the other things you do are temporary. God and His Kingdom are all that are left. As you seek God's Kingdom and righteousness, you'll find that the same God who gives you His Kingdom and righteousness will also give you the things you need in this life.
Prayer
Holy Lord, only in You do I discover what satisfies my soul's needs. The things that have grabbed my sight are dull after only a short while. The artificial things I have chased, all of my compulsive hobbies, have left me empty and shackled. I find hope and help solely in You. Please be near to love, correct, discipline, guide, and mold me to Your glory. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
