Matthew 7:1 ยท KJV
"Judge not, that ye be not judged."
King James Version
What does Matthew 7:1 mean? โPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Do you pass judgment? Do you believe you can assess another person's heart's intent? Are you critical and judgmental of the conduct of others? Jesus wants us to understand that we cannot know what someone's heart is thinking. When we are unreasonably harsh or harshly judgmental of others, we are establishing the standard by which God will evaluate us. I don't know about you, but I refuse to trade God's grace for my excessive harshness. I'm going to try harder to look at others with kindness and grace.
Prayer
Dear God, please forgive me for being unduly harsh and judgmental in my assessment of others. Thank you for being so rich and free with your kindness and grace bestowed upon me in Jesus. Please help me to be more generous and forgiving in the way I analyze the aims and motives of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
