Philemon 1:7 Β· KJV
"For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother."
King James Version
What does Philemon 1:7 mean? βPassage Context
5Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
6That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
7For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
8Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,
9Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone described you in the same way that Paul described Philemon? Your heart will be renewed, and your attitude will be improved when you receive the love, support, and encouragement of an encourager. This week, let's resolve to be an "encourager" who renews the hearts of people around us.
Prayer
Thank you, kind and loving God, for bringing into my life those who have given me encouragement when I most needed it. Give me the ability to notice and the desire to help people around me who really need Your support. In Jesus' name, I ask it. Amen.
