King James Version
What does Philippians 2:3 mean? โPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Do you remember one of the Bible's very first questions? "Where is Abel, your brother?" Cain answered, "Am I my brother's keeper?" Paul's answer is a clear yes that can't be argued with. We must think about what's best for everyone, not just ourselves.
Prayer
Father, show me how to cherish my family the way You do. I frequently lose track of those who are suffering nearby because I become preoccupied with my own problems and world, which causes me to become distracted. In order for You to minister through me, please help me become more conscious of and sensitive to those needs. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Being humble means knowing who God made us to be and using that knowledge to help and save other people. We don't just follow the Golden Rule when we try to be humble like Jesus did. Instead, we go one step further and treat others better than we would treat ourselves. Are we told to do this because we're not good enough or worthy enough? No! Jesus was worthy and glorious, but when He gave His life to save people, He chose to treat them better than Himself. It's a high bar to meet. It's a tough rule. It's not for the weak. But in the end, it is glorious. (Hint: Read through verse 10 and remember that faithful people will get the same kind of reward!)
Prayer
Thank you, All-Powerful God, for making me your child and making me holy and important to you. Please help me see myself the way you do, and as one of your most precious children, give me the strength to serve others in ways that help them see your glory. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer
Father, show me how You love Your family. I get so wrapped up in my own world and my own problems that I don't notice when people around me are hurting. Help me become more aware of and sensitive to their needs so that You can work through me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
