Devotional Reflection
When Jesus' name is praised and His glory is spoken of, God is honored and blessed. Praise be to the glorious name of Jesus of Nazareth, our great Messiah, the Christ, Savior, Son of God, and conquering King!
Prayer
Jesus Christ, my Lord, what a glorious name you have! You were so kind and generous to make the sacrifice for my sin. I am so grateful that you were given life by our Father and that because of you, I will spend all of eternity with God and worship Him! You are wonderful, Lord Jesus! I offer this prayer of praise to God in your glorious name. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Jesus defined glory as being kind, courageous, generous, and tenacious. It's one of those equations in the math of salvation that doesn't make much sense to us, but from the point of view of faith, it is very wise. God's kindness made it possible for Jesus to come to our world. Jesus had the courage to leave heaven, face the hardships of earthly life, and give Himself to help other people. Jesus was strong enough to face the horrors and shame of the cross. So God gave Jesus some of His glory and put Him above everyone else. Paul wants to remind us that God doesn't forget our sacrifices, our obedience, or the hard things we have to go through. Because Jesus' sacrifice has made us holy, He does honor them with His joy and glory.
Prayer
Holy Father and Lord God, I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son and my Lord and Savior. I surrender my heart to have no rival interest to the lordship of Your Son. Thank You for the great gift of love You gave through Him. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
