Devotional Reflection
Some people who don't like preaching and people who preach say, "I would rather see a sermon than hear one any day." I'm not upset that people want to "see a sermon." I'm upset that some preachers don't "do what they preach." Our critics think that their hypocrisy makes the message of Christ look bad. As leaders, whether as friends, parents, or people in positions of power, our faithfulness, character, and kindness should be our most powerful tools. Do you live by what you say? All of us who want to change people for the better MUST! Why? Because most people need to hear and see a message before they can really understand it.
Prayer
Lord, God Most Powerful, please forgive me, give me what I need, and make me ready to serve You. Please help me, dear Father, as I try to lead others to Jesus and live a life worth imitating. I know I can't do either of those things without You changing my life with Your power and grace. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
