Devotional Reflection
Contentment! How about you? Mmm, I'd enjoy a bit of that. Being satisfied with practically anything is difficult for me. My performance is below average. I'm not as heavy as I should be. In our last talk, I used a few offensive remarks. It's even simpler to acknowledge what we lack financially and then go for it. But before we can fully appreciate money, possessions, health, or anything else, we must first understand that satisfaction is not dependent on our circumstances but rather on our salvation.
Prayer
I ask for your assistance in discovering the gift of contentment, since you, Almighty and Generous God, are the source of all good things. Bless me with whatever you see fit, because I know in my heart that no blessing compares to being your child and experiencing your love and intimate knowledge. In Jesus' name, I ask. Amen.
There are many ups and downs in life. Death, disaster, and decay can touch so much of what we love. What can we know for sure? Who can give us peace of mind? Where do we get the strength to live victorious lives in both good and bad times? In the Lord, who strengthens us!
Prayer
O LORD God, Father of all creation, I acknowledge that my life and the conditions in which I strive to live it are beyond my capacity to control. I appreciate You for being present to comfort, protect, lead, and enable me to confront each scenario with confidence and assurance. Whenever I am with You, O loving Shepherd, I know I will have everything I need to live victoriously for You until the day I go to share in Your glory. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
