Devotional Reflection

GriefShame

Wow, that's quite a charge. When we vote based on how much money we have rather than how good a person is, and when we let the leaders of both political parties off the hook for their mistakes, lies, and breaking the law, we are in a very sad place. But before we complain about how immoral our public officials are, let's make sure we're honest in our own daily lives. Let's make sure we don't say mean things about other people, that we keep our marriages and purity vows, and that we hold ourselves to higher standards than we do other people.

Prayer

God, you are not only supremely powerful; you are also holy! You, O LORD God Almighty, are Holy, Holy, Holy. I pray that your glory fills the entire earth and shines through in everything I say and do. Please pardon my own sin and hypocrisy. As I commit my life to your glory, grant me purity, righteousness, and holiness. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
