Devotional Reflection

GriefFearShame

Why is it so hard to take criticism that isn't fair? Why do we always have to defend ourselves, even if the charge is unfounded? Often, the problems we have with others get worse because we don't choose to forgive and let them move on in the Lord.

Prayer

Dear Holy God, guide me to speak more carefully to avoid the things You detest, especially rumors, slander, and innuendo. I'm grateful. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

FearShame

Why is it so difficult to bear harsh or unfair criticism? Why do we feel the need to defend ourselves all the time, no matter how ludicrous the charge? Problems with people frequently worsen because we refuse to forgive and let them go in the Lord.

Prayer

Help me be more careful about what I say so I don't say things You hate, especially gossip, slander, and innuendo. Thank You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
