What does Proverbs 15:4 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Words can change things. Those who communicate know this. Talkers know this. You know this deep down. Words have made you happy, and words have made you sad. A kind and gentle word can do a lot to help someone feel better. When someone hurts you with a cruel joke or a well-told lie, it's crushing. It's amazing to have so much power. Our speech gives us a lot of power, and it's a big deal to use it wisely. When spoken with love to honor Jesus, words can give life, hope, and peace. Let's use that power right now!
Prayer
O my Father, Today, I hope my words will be a blessing. I want Your grace to be evident in them. I want them to comfort the grieving and offer solace to the hurting. I want them to show compassion for the suffering. I want them to reflect honor and honesty under trying conditions. When I hear coarse language around me, I want my words to remain upright. Use my words to bless others and bring You glory through Your Spirit. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
