Devotional Reflection
God doesn't spend millions on ads with bright lights, leggy blondes, fast cars, and handsome young studs like the alcohol industry does. Instead, He tells us the truth: it's not wise to be bound to anything that makes us look foolish, stirs up our passions in a destructive way, or leaves us open to temptation. If any of these things have happened to you because of drinking, please talk to a strong Christian friend who can help you find freedom. If you are not affected by these issues, please pray for and spend time with those who have been hurt by alcohol and drug abuse.
Prayer
Father, my heart hurts today for every person and family that is in Satan's grip because of drinking or using drugs. Please bless those whose lives are made a living hell by a loved one who is addicted. Please give them the courage to ask for help instead of staying alone and keeping quiet. Please wake up their loved one to the fact that he or she is living a dangerous life. Please prepare the people who can help them get started on the path to recovery, health, and freedom, which You desire so much for them. Please use Your Church as a place of healing and hope for those whose lives are caught in this terrible trap. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
