Passage Context

Devotional Reflection

LoveGratitudeHopeCompassionAweContentment

It's been sweltering hot where I am; I'm not sure how it is where you are. Anything chilly and revitalizing sounds great. A cold drink of water is hydrating to your parched throat, and a shower is cleansing to your sticky body if you've ever worked a harvest and gotten dust, plant bits, and perspiration up under your shirt. However, God claims that being dependable messengers for Him and for one another is a greater source of refreshment than a cold beverage on a hot, exhausting day. How well have you recently been implementing the Master's teachings? Possessed His love? Informed others of His grace? Shown His goodwill? Let's go to work benefiting people with the Gospel and refreshing our Lord!

Prayer

Please pardon me when I am unreliable in sharing your message or embarrassed to profess my loyalty to you and your gospel. Give me the discernment to show and share your love, compassion, grace, and character with others around me. May today's words and deeds revive you and bring you honor! In Jesus' name, I ask this. Amen.
