Devotional Reflection

PeaceHope

Don't you already have a lot to do today? When you worry about the problems of tomorrow, don't you find it hard to focus on what's important and urgent right now? Don't you sometimes miss a chance today because you're thinking about all the things that could happen in the future? Don't you think it's a waste of time to worry about things you can't change? So why worry so much about tomorrow, next week, and beyond? Let's walk with God today and have faith that He will be there for us tomorrow.

Prayer

Holy God, help me to muster the courage to seize the day and live a life that will bring You and others blessings. Help me to act with courage, kindness, and salvation today rather than worrying so much about what might occur tomorrow or next week. Give me the exact moment I see in the ministry of Your Son while He was on earth. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

PeaceHopeFear

Be humble about what's to come! Tomorrow is not up to us. We may have taken tomorrow for granted in the past, but not anymore. Maybe tomorrow won't come. Something bad could happen tomorrow. Everything we have could be gone tomorrow. Is there anything good we can hold on to in the face of these discouraging possibilities? Absolutely! We know that God is in charge of the future. We know that our future is safe because our lives are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:1โ€“4). It may not be what we think it will be. It might not work out the way we want. But God will decide how things will go, and in the end, we will share in His comfort, victory, and glory.

Prayer

Father, all of my tomorrows depend on You. I hope that I can help You today, that I will be brave enough not to worry about tomorrow, and that my love for You and my commitment to You will not change. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
