Devotional Reflection
Fear can stop you in your tracks. It takes away our energy, our ability to make good decisions, and our strength. Fear can paralyze us, but courage helps us move past that and turn our nerves into strength. But we don't have this kind of courage until we realize that Satan and his allies can only take our bodies. He can't take our thoughts, our beliefs, or our faith. Most of all, he can't take away the relationship with God that Jesus gave us.
Prayer
Thank you, O God, my Savior and Great Redeemer, for overcoming all of my fears through Jesus. You've given me not only a hero I can believe in, but also a reason to believe that I can triumph in life. I thank you on behalf of my conquering King, Jesus, the triumphant rider on the white horse. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Jesus told us not to be afraid of other people (Luke 12:4-5). When we try to make other people happy or worry about what they might say or do to us, we put ourselves in a very dangerous position. No longer are we in charge of our own lives. We give in to what other people want, think, or threaten. We are only supposed to trust and respect the Lord. Fear is pushed out of our hearts when we put our faith in the Lord. When we put our faith in the Lord on purpose, He becomes our security, both now and forever.
Prayer
Please protect me, LORD, from those who are against me and want to hurt me. Make my life a holy way of praising You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
