King James Version
What does Proverbs 3:2 mean? โPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
People who are older are not respected as much in Western cultures as they used to be or as they are in other cultures. The Bible tells us over and over again that we MUST honor godly people and those who have gone before us. Whether the father in this passage is the real father of the person being taught or the teacher of this student looking for wisdom, the idea is the same. We can learn a lot from those who have been serving God for a long time and have shown themselves to be wise and trustworthy.
Prayer
Thank you, loving God and all-powerful Father, for the wise people in my life who have taught me about You and Your ways. Please let them know how much I appreciate the time and love they have put into me, and use me to do the same for the people who come after me.
