Proverbs 3:27 Β· KJV
"Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it."
King James Version
What does Proverbs 3:27 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
We should watch out for people worthy of good instead of just "looking out for" only "number 1" β whether that be assistance, aid, praise, love, affection, or attention β and act decisively to grant them what they want and deserve. We are to be a people, as Paul reminds us, whom Jesus redeemed so we would be "eager to do good deeds" (Titus 2:14).
Prayer
Father, forgive me for my selfishness. I frequently focus entirely on my wants or what I deserve. You have blessed me by putting so many kind and deserving individuals in my life. Give me the strength to behave in ways that honor You and are a gift to others by using Your Spirit to open my eyes and heart to the people around me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
