Devotional Reflection
Empathy. God, my Father, bestows on me mercy rather than regret, wrath, humiliation, restlessness, rejection, or abandonment. My suffering is of significance to Him, so He shares it in Jesus and comes into my world to share it with me.
Prayer
Thank you, Father of Mercies and God of all Compassion, for sending me help in Jesus and the Holy Spirit, in addition to knowing about and caring for my struggles and problems. I can see your love and mercy through one, and your might and power through the other. May the relationships I have reflect your compassionate Spirit. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
A compassionate attitude. Rather than pity, anger, shame, impatience, intolerance, or rejection, God, my Father, gives me compassion. It is enough for Him to care about my pain that He came into my world to share it with me in Jesus.
Prayer
Father of Mercies and God of All Compassion, thank you for not only knowing and caring about my struggles and problems, but also for sending me help in the form of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Through one, I know how kind and loving you are, and through the other, I know how strong and powerful you are. May your spirit of kindness show up in the way I treat other people. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
