Devotional Reflection

God's promises, which are written in the Bible, help us find our way in a world with many different opinions. They also show us the way in a time when cynicism and hopelessness are so common. What a great gift it is to be able to say what God wants in our own words! If only we would walk in the light!

Prayer

Dear Father, I appreciate You giving me Your truth in the Bible. It truly inspires me to know that You care about me enough to use language to communicate with me so that I can hear and read what You have to say. Make my heart yearn for the truth You have spoken to me through Your Word. I hope to develop into a gracious and upright member of Your family. I pray to You with all my love. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

So often, those of us who have the blessings of faith and the guidance of the Bible don't fully appreciate them. Can you imagine trying to figure out who you are, what you value, and what you want to do in life without a standard of truth? Imagine being lost without a map or compass to help you find your way. Remember what it was like to be a child and wake up in the middle of the night in a place you didn't know? We no longer need to worry about that, right? God's Word, both the Bible and His Son, shines light on our dark paths and leads us home.

Prayer

O LORD, my Father, I'm glad You didn't leave me in the dark. Your Word shows me the way, and Your Son, who is called "the Light of the World," shows me how to live. Thank You for not just leaving me to figure things out on my own. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer

Thank you, Loving Father, for revealing Your truth to me via Scripture. It greatly inspires me to know that You love me enough to speak in a language so that I may hear and understand Your message. Make my heart desire Your truth revealed in Your Word. I want to grow to be a virtuous and kind child in Your family. With all my affection, I pray to You in the name of my elder Brother and Savior. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
