Passage Context

6Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Devotional Reflection

God has a plan and a purpose for each and every one of our lives. Finding that purpose and living it out is the best thing we can do. His plan for us is based on His wisdom and love, so we can trust it. As long as we try to do what He wants, we won't do anything that will mess up His plan for us. We do sometimes go off the perfect path He wants us to be on, but we never leave the main path completely. As long as we don't leave Him and remember that He will never leave us, He will use us for His purposes.

Prayer

Help me today, Sovereign God, to understand what purpose my life is supposed to serve in Your plan. I appreciate Your love and commitment to being by my side through every stage of life. I've made a commitment to never abandon You and to live my life believing that You won't abandon me. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.

First, we are sure that the LORD will finish what He has started in us (cf. Philippians 1:6). Second, there is a statement: "The LORD's love lasts and never ends" (cf. 1 Corinthians 13:8). The last part is a prayer: "Lord, don't forget me, Your creation" (cf. Psalm 139:13-16). What a lovely way for our walk with the Lord to be balanced.

Prayer

Heavenly Father and LORD of all, I am sure that you will do what you want and need to do through me. Seeing how you loved and helped the ordinary people in the Bible over the years, I know that your love will last long after I leave this place. But, dear LORD, I do have some problems and struggles, and I'm asking you to help me with your grace and power. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

O All-Powerful God, help me figure out what my life is meant to do in Your plan today. Thank You for loving me and making a promise to be by my side every step of the way. I live with the hope that You will never leave me and the promise that I will never leave You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
