Devotional Reflection

He improves my mood. That sounds fantastic, wow. But it goes beyond words. God gives us the courage to carry on walking even when we feel like giving up. His strength keeps us going when things are tough and aids in our victory. We are able to soar through the skies like eagles when we triumph in His name. He is not merely a shepherd; He is the one who keeps us alive and is our Rock.

Prayer

Help me, gentle Shepherd, to sleep peacefully tonight knowing that You are watching over me. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.

We need to have our spirits rejuvenated when we are exhausted, empty, and on the verge of burning out. But who can restore our spirits to wholeness? Only He can bring us to peaceful waters! The Lord looks for us. He is the only one who can provide us with all the food and rest we need. But why is it so difficult for us to make time for Him at times? Could it be that we are so preoccupied that we overlook the most essential thing?

Prayer

Dear Father, You have often shown me that having You around helps me feel better in a part of my heart that no one else can. I apologize for seeking out food and rest in unholy or unhelpful locations. So that I can better serve You, give me a new dose of Your presence and strength. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Some of us won't stop moving no matter what. Well, just about everything. When we are "too full of ourselves" and too focused on our own plans, the LORD, our Shepherd, slows us down and makes us lie down. Our Shepherd knows that we need rest, food, and refreshment. He helps us find "green pastures" and "still waters," and sometimes He even makes us. After we have had a chance to rest and feel better, He leads us in the direction of His righteousness and holiness. Isn't it interesting that God always puts grace first and then glory in our lives?

Prayer

Thank you, dear Father, for slowing down my crazy life and leading me to times of refreshment, rest, and nourishment. I have faith that you will lead me to what I need as you teach me to be more and more like you. Please forgive me for getting too busy to hear your voice and respond to your grace. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

He makes me feel better. Wow, that sounds great. But it's not just words. When we feel like we can't go any further, God gives us the strength to keep walking. When we're in a fight and things are hard, His power keeps us going and helps us win. When we win in His name, we can soar through the air like eagles. He is more than just a shepherd. He is our Rock and the One who keeps us alive.

Prayer

O Gentle Shepherd, help me sleep tonight knowing that You are kind and close by. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.
