"Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness."
King James Version
What does Psalm 29:2 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
We have a hard time giving glory or putting glory on ourselves. Let's admit it. We care a lot about ourselves. We're much more used to asking God for things than to praising, thanking, and inviting others to worship Him with us. Let's pray prayers of thanksgiving and praise to honor God's holy name for the rest of this week. Try it! Pick a day this week and spend an hour praising, adoring, respecting, and giving thanks to God. (Don't ask for anything during this time. Instead, talk about who God is, what God has done, and give the LORD the glory He deserves!)
Prayer
Father, I praise you, LORD, because you are so amazing and beautiful that I can't even begin to describe you, but you still love me as I am. I'm grateful that you sent Jesus to help me see your glory. Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to live inside me. I thank you that your grace keeps me and the people I love going. I'm grateful to you, LORD. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
