King James Version
What does Psalm 5:11 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Christians have faced significant challenges in the past few years. All over the world, people are being persecuted more than ever before. Mass murderers in the United States have targeted people who believe in God. Even though they were killed for their faith, their stories about the LORD remain just as convincing. When faced with such a reality, we have many choices. Most likely, shock shouldn't be one of them. This fear has been present since the early days of Christian society. It really started long before Jesus' time, when our Jewish heroes were killed because they believed in the One True God and were Jewish. I think it's time to recite this old prayer from today's Bible verse, Psalm 5, once again. When we pray it, let's remember that no matter what others do to us, they can't keep us from God or the future salvation He has planned for us.
Prayer
Almighty God, please bring peace to our world. Please stop the influence of Satan that has made your children hate one another. Give us the strength to be honest about our faith, to forgive, and to hold on to our hope, whether or not we are being persecuted. Father, if you could comfort the people whose loved ones were killed because they believed in you, that would be great. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
The LORD is our hope. He makes us feel safe and gives us reason to sing joyful songs. He is our safety and our hope. He is why we are happy!
Prayer
We praise you, great and loving God and Father, for your mercy, your holiness, your forgiveness, and your love that never ends. You give us hope and protect us. You make us feel good about the future. In your name and in the name of your Son, Jesus, we are delighted and express our gratitude. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
