Passage Context

5My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Devotional Reflection

FearShame

Who we are, what happens to us in life, and what we do that matters are all under the control of God. We cannot achieve lasting honor for ourselves without His assistance. We lack security and assurance of the future without His support. Whether or not we voluntarily surrender our lives to God determines our level of success and glory.

Prayer

I entrust myself to you, O Rock, my life's fortress. Take control of my future and utilize me to your advantage. I find refuge in you, and I rely on your fortitude to make each day worthwhile. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

GratitudeHope

God is in charge of who we are, what happens to us in life, and what we do that is important. Without His help, we can't earn lasting honor for ourselves. Without His help and blessing, we can't be sure of our future or safety. All success and glory depend on whether or not we willingly give our lives to God.

Prayer

O Rock, my life's stronghold, I trust myself to You. Take care of my future and use me for Your glory. I find safety in You, and my days are worth living because of Your strength. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
