Passage Context

1O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Devotional Reflection

LoveGratitudeHope

Your love is better than life. Sounds like the lyrics to a modern love song, doesn't it? Well, it's a love song, but it's not very current. David talked about how much he missed the LORD while he was in the desert. He knew that life would be pointless if he had to go through it without God's love. When did you last tell God that you love Him? When was the last time you sang to Jesus about how much you love Him? No matter how long or short that time has been, today is the perfect time to tell God how much you value His mercy, how much His grace has set you free, and how much His love means to you—more than life itself.

Prayer

Father, you have given me so much and made such great sacrifices for me. I lack the words to adequately express my gratitude, my admiration, and—most importantly—my love for you. But when I say, "Dear God, I love you," please understand that I mean it with all of my heart. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
