Devotional Reflection

GriefDespair

This part of the Bible makes me want to scream at God: "God, please fix us up! God, bring back the sense of wonder to Your people, who have lost it. Bring back the innocence to our old, hardened hearts. Bring our lives back to their original perfection and purpose. Bring us back to You, God Almighty!" Even though not every Christian has lost their sense of wonder and not everyone has a hard, old heart, we all need God to shine on us and renew us!

Prayer

Sometimes I feel so old and worn out; my soul is weary from the battle, O God, the Creator of new things. Your presence and fortitude are what I need to recover. Please put me back on your team and awaken your grace within me. Please bring me back into your love so that I can spread it to others. Please make me righteous again so that people can see your character in me. In order for the world to recognize you in us and discover your atoning grace, kindly restore me, and don't stop there; kindly restore everyone who calls on your mighty name. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
