What does Psalm 91:4 mean? β†’

Passage Context

2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

Devotional Reflection

PeaceHopeFear

There are a lot of things that can go wrong in life. You can't predict when something unexpected will happen. You don't know when the next bad thing will occur. In a world filled with hate and terrorism, none of us knows when the next terrible event will take place. So what do we do when we don't know what's going on? We take refuge under the wings of the One who is above everything! We have faith in our Father because He has promised to bring us to Himself no matter what happens today, in our world, and to our bodies. Because we're joined to Christ, our lives are hidden with our Father. He is our safe place. We feel secure under His wings.

Prayer

What can I say to You, Father, to show how much I love and appreciate You for saving my life? You are the start and the finish. You are the God who has always been there and will always be there. You raised me as Your own, so I call You my Father. I won't be scared because I've put all my faith, hope, and future in You. Under Your wings, I feel safe. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
