Devotional Reflection
God saved us by going first and giving up what was most important to Him. Now He can ask us to give ourselves to Him. The only problem is that the poor sacrifice keeps trying to crawl off the altar. Every day, we have to give God our will, our time, our hearts, and our commitment. If not, our sacrifice is gone, and the altar is empty.
Prayer
I want to give my life, my body, and my will to you, Holy and Righteous Savior. However, I must admit that there are some minor (and possibly some major) things that I have never put on that altar, things that I don't want to abandon. I will live for you today to the best of my ability, submitting everything to your Lordship and control. I extend to you my entire self, all that I am and all that I have, to be yours today and forever. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
God's amazing mercy and grace are what make us want to be holy. We give ourselves to God because He has already shown us how much He loves us by sending Jesus to die for us. We worship Him when we give ourselves to honor Him. We praise Him because we don't want to live like the rest of the world. As we do these things over and over again, God's will becomes even clearer. With the help of the Spirit, we change every day to be more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18) as we show more of God's character (Galatians 5:22-23).
Prayer
Have Thine own way, Lord... mold me and make me after Thy will!" says an old hymn. I'm happy to give You my heart, my life, and my future so that You can use them for Your glory. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer
Holy and Righteous Savior, I want to give you my whole life, including my body and will. But I have to say that there are some small things (and maybe some big ones) that I have never put on that altar. I don't want to give up these things. As much as I can, I will live today for you in a way that leaves nothing out of your control. I'm giving you everything I have and everything I am, today and forever. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
