King James Version
What does Romans 2:7 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
God longs for a connection with us and wants us to seek after Him and the things that are significant to Him. God not only pursues us but also craves a relationship with us. He is happy to provide us with what He has always intended for us: everlasting life with Him when we consistently seek His glory and honor by doing good and when we pursue eternal rather than transitory things. In other words, God is continually seeking out those who are seeking Him!
Prayer
Abba Father, I'm grateful that you loved me even when I was lost and sinning. I'm grateful that you didn't simply love me; you also looked for me by sending Jesus. Thank you for the justice you upheld and the mercy you extended through your Son, Jesus. I freely admit that I sometimes get irritated and sidetracked by issues that don't actually matter all that much. Bless me as I work to control my thoughts and direct my aspirations toward things that are everlasting. It is comforting to know that your desire to provide me with everlasting life is even greater than your desire to grant me fame and honor in the way I live. In Jesus' name, I ask it. Amen.
