Devotional Reflection
Peace is more than the wish that everyone gets along and everything is calm. Peace with God, which is what the apostle Paul is talking about here, is a lot more than just wanting quiet and no trouble. Jesus' selfless obedience to God has brought us peace with God. Yes, God gave it to us by His grace. Yes, because of His grace, God makes sure of it. But because this peace comes from Him and what He is like, we can be happy and look forward to being swept up in the glory of our great God.
Prayer
I thank you, Great Majesty in the sky, for giving us Jesus as a gift of your grace. Give me confidence and faith so I can stand strong and be inspired to live for you with a life full of hope and joy. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Justified, peace, access, grace, hope, and glory are all amazing gifts. Each of these gifts comes to us because of One: Jesus Christ, the Son of God and our Savior. Because we believe in Jesus, we can have the sure hope that we will share in God's glory. In hard times, this hope is worth a lot. When things are going well, this hope gives us even more. This hope can give us the strength to live for Jesus no matter what.
Prayer
I give you thanks, Lord Jesus, for everything you've done to save me. I praise you, Lord, because you said you would come back and invite me to share in your glory. Speed up that day and cleanse me so I can serve you. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
