King James Version
What does Romans 5:8 mean? βPassage Context
Devotional Reflection
Jesus didn't die for us because He had high hopes for who we are or what we would become. No, He died for us because He knew exactly who we were and what we would become without Him. God be praised! Because Jesus took our sin upon Himself and gave us God's grace and righteousness in its place, we are now God's righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).
Prayer
Thank you, holy God, for sending my Savior, Jesus. The amount of love and devotion I have for You for such a wonderful gift is beyond words! In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
God didn't wait for us to be "good enough" before He saved us. Instead, He came when we were most lost and needed His help the most. If you ask God, that's what love is all about. It's not just something said or felt; it's something that's shown in a big way.
Prayer
Holy and kind Father, thank you for showing how much you love us in such a strong and selfless way. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
God does not just tell us in the Bible that He loves us. Instead, it says: "God showed His love..." "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that God loved us and gave..." Because God cared so much about the world, He gave..." Love is more than feelings or goals. Love that is like God's love, love that saves, is active; it does something. Jesus did more than just something for us. He gave up everything. Plus, He did it when we needed it the most. He showed us how much He loved us even when we were bad.
Prayer
Father, I'm glad You love me. I love You. Because of what You've done, I love You. I love You just for being You. I love You for Your promises. I love You for always being there for me. I love You the most, dear Father, because Jesus showed me how much You love me. Please help me serve and give to others as Jesus did to show how much I love them. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
