Devotional Reflection
Paul says in Romans 6 that obeying God's will doesn't mean we are being manipulated or forced to follow a bunch of rules or laws. No, obedience to our gracious God is freedom—freedom from the chains of sin and the certainty of death, freedom from the haunting memories of sin and its effects, and freedom to be the people God made us to be.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I know in my heart that following Your will is a good thing, not a bad thing. I know that You told me Your truth to save and protect me. Forgive me for sometimes having doubts and looking for the joy and happiness that only You can give me elsewhere. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
