Devotional Reflection
Your brother died and gave you his share of the family's money. That's the point of this. We are God's children because we have God's Spirit. If we are God's children, we are entitled to everything that God has to give. We are co-heirs with Christ. His death made it possible for us to become part of God's family. So, even if we have to go through some hard times or painful problems, we won't give up. We know that the time will come when we will receive all of heaven's good things.
Prayer
Father, I'm grateful for Your kindness. I need You to give me more and more of that grace. Please help me stay strong and faithful in the face of my troubles and temptations. Please give me the strength to keep going through the hard times because I know I'll be with You in heaven someday. Thank You for Your Spirit, which tells me I am Your child and will share in all Your blessings. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
Abba. If you listen to a baby, you'll hear these basic sounds that they make early on. Amazingly, Jesus showed us how to talk to God with these words: familiarity, trust, vulnerability, dependence, and intimacy. The Spirit also helps us do this. The Spirit is our guarantee that we don't have to be afraid of God. Instead, we can approach Him as our loving and caring Father who always listens to our hearts and wants to bless our lives.
Prayer
Abba Father, you are mighty and glorious. Your deeds are awesome. Your power, LORD, is too great to understand. Your grace is wonderful, All-Powerful God. Thank you, Holy and Righteous Father, for letting me talk to you as my Abba, who is always close and always there. Please show me that you are close to me today. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
