Romans 8:37 ยท KJV

"Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

King James Version

What does Romans 8:37 mean? โ†’

Passage Context

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Conquerors! We win! When you open the last book of the Bible, Revelation, this is the message: Christians win because Jesus is the only real winner. No matter how the battle is going for you right now, remember that we will win in the end.

Prayer

God Almighty, El Shaddai, thank you for ensuring that I will win in the end by raising Jesus from the dead. I believe He will arrive in triumph on the day You have chosen, but until then, I will live victoriously for You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Are we really winners despite "trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword"? Yes! That is the best assurance a Christian can have. We can't be separated from God's love in Christ by anything. The Evil One and those who help him can kill us, ruin our finances, cause us pain, and try to break up our relationships. However, the Evil One can't get our hearts if we give them to Jesus. And our future belongs to Jesus when our hearts do. Jesus' empty tomb shows us that our future with Him will be glorious, full of victories, and never-ending.

Prayer

Give me the ability to see and the faith to believe that Jesus' victory over death is also my victory. I don't want the hard things in life to make me lose hope, faith, and love. Instead, I want to be a living example of Your strength, grace, and victory. I live and pray in the name of Jesus and for His glory. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

More than conquerors! What a beautiful phrase. In Christ, this is who we are: more than conquerors. No hardship, adversary, physical tragedy, nor even death can separate us from Jesus. Once our lives are connected to Jesus, our future is tied to Him (Col. 3:1-4).

Prayer

God, You are so powerful that I don't know how to thank You enough. Thank You for making me trust in Jesus. Thank You for the grace You've given me. Thank You for Your Spirit that lives in me. Thank You for letting me know about heaven. Thank You for the way Your love has saved and changed me. Thank You for telling me that no matter what I have to face, I will never be alone. Most of all, thank You, dear LORD, for knowing that nothing in this world can separate me from Jesus' love. I hope to spend the rest of my life with You. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Conquerors! We won! When you look at the ultimate book of the Bible, Revelation, that is the message โ€“ Christians triumph because Jesus is the one true conqueror. No matter how the struggle is going for you right now, remember that in the end, we win!

Prayer

God Almighty, El Shaddai, thank you for giving me the ultimate victory by bringing Jesus back from the dead. I know He will come with victory on the day You have chosen, but I pray that until then I will live victoriously for You. I pray through Jesus, my King who has won. Amen.
