God Can Be Relied On

Published: January 3, 2024 · Reviewed: March 1, 2024

God provided us with a solid base for life with His Word. Something that never changes is God Himself.

God's will is therefore certain in our minds. We only need to look at what God said in His Word, the Bible, if we want to understand what His will is.

PSALM 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

God's integrity is encapsulated in His Word; if He did not uphold His Promises, He would be a liar, and that is something that will never occur!

PSALM 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

The things that God has said are unchangeable. God never reneges on His promises. God always follows through on His promises.

NUMBERS 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

God is infallible! He never sleeps, watching over the fulfillment of every word He has uttered.

JEREMIAH 1:12 Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

MARK 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

The stars in the sky and the land you are standing on cannot compare to the reliability of God's Word. All of that will eventually change, but God's words will never be altered.

2 TIMOTHY 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

God will always honor His word because He cannot ignore the truth of who He is (John 14:6). He would be considered a liar if He did anything other but what He promised. God does not lie!

SAY THIS: I can see and touch things, but God's Word is more trustworthy.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unchanging Word, a solid foundation in our lives. We praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and truth. We trust in Your promises, knowing You will never break Your covenant nor alter Your words. You are not a man that You should lie, Your words are infallible and steadfast. Even when we falter in our faith, You remain faithful. Help us to trust in Your Word more than what we see or touch. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
